Kick-off meeting of the EnergyWare project: press release

Kick-off meeting of the project entitled “Energy Efficiency in Warehousing along Maritime Supply Chains” (EnergyWare) was held on 01 February 2016 in Bremen. The project is supported by the International Cooperation Network for Countries from the Eastern Partnership (IncoNet EaP) and coordinated by German Aerospace Center (DLR).

It is a twinning partnership between German and Ukrainian institutions: the Chair in Maritime Business and Logistics (University of Bremen – Uni HB), and the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” – NTUU “KPI”) together with the Odessa National Maritime University - ONMU.

The main objective is a joint proposal for the Horizon 2020 Call EE-15-2017 “Increasing capacities for actual implementation of energy efficiency measures in industry and services”. Future proposal will focus on (1) Capacity building programs for qualified and accredited experts carrying out energy audits (with financial and technical data to allow decision-makers and financiers to return-on-investment decisions), (2) Staff trainings and capacity building programs to enhance corporate policy towards energy efficiency, energy culture and sustainable supply-chain initiatives.
